Harmony Gold reports a fatality at its Merriespruit 3 shaft

 Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (Harmony) regrets to announce that a tramming accident occurred early this morning at its Merriespruit 3 shaft - which is part of the Virginia Operations in the Free State - that resulted in the death of a mineworker.

Management together with the Department of Mineral Resources began investigations today into the cause of the accident.

Harmony's Chief Executive Officer, Graham Briggs and his management team, express their sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
